Atlanta Georgia Relays (AGR) 2021 Considerations For “COVID-19” Guidelines & Protocols May 29-30
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:
The AGR leadership team will designate a person to be responsible for Covid-19 concerns. Leadership will ensure that all employees and guests know who this person is and how to contact them (A small tent will be created as an information booth for concerns). AGR Leadership team will encourage the event staff and all attendees to practice good personal health habits each day. The leadership team
will advise employees and attendees to stay home if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or are showing COVID-19 symptoms. AGR will advise employees and attendees to stay home and monitor their health if they have had close contact with a person who has symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 14 days. This will be done in a timely manner where the email will be sent to staff and volunteers of guidelines before the day of the event. Our goal as a team is to share resource materials from reputable sources on symptoms, prevention, and more to our staff and volunteers at all times.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Front/Back Gate, Home/Visitors sides, Athlete’s check-in will all have sanitizing stations. (Approx. 6 stations)
- No mask, no entry (AGR should have extra masks to give out at entrance by Security who will enforce this rule.).
- AGR will create designated sanitation sites stocked with hand sanitizer and disposable disinfectant wipes.
- AGR will enforce rules of staff to wipe down microphones, iPad, and other technology equipment after each use.
We will work diligently to remind attendees of hygiene best practices through signage at the event, email, social media, or push notifications through www.CoachO.com by attachment of information of Covid-19 guidelines.
We will consider asking our athletes to sign disclaimer waivers when they register on-site or on www.CoachO.com Signage needs to be present in front of the entrance, and the AGR cashiers will mention information at the first contact when spectators purchase tickets for them to read signage before the entrance and to understand risk factors by becoming a spectator.
Leadership will aim to limit staff contact on-site. Develop a staggered shift schedule to reduce the risk of exposure and allow staff members to telecommute by using their walkie, rather than in person (All Staff must have a walkie).
AGR is working to limit attendees' walk-in to purchase tickets. Our goal for our spectators for them to buy tickets in advance. Our goal is for the majority of our Attendees to buy tickets online in advance to ensure a contact-free event check-in experience
• AGR will work to post signs in highly visible locations such as the entrances and restrooms that encourage protective measures. Broadcast regular announcements on the microphone, about reducing the spread of Covid-19 on public address systems and share messages on social media.
• Leadership team will create signage to limit the number of people who can use a restroom at one time and post signs or markers outside the restroom to prevent crowds from forming. Consider adding barriers between bathroom sinks.
Athletes:
Required to have a mask upon entering the check-in area and the start line of the race.
To limit contact: athletes can provide their own implements and retrieve after all throws. If athletes can’t provide their own implements, then it’s recommended that implements be sanitized between each use.
Blocks should be disinfected after each heat/race.
Batons have to provide their own batons for any relay races.
Officials:
Required to wear a mask at all times during the competition
Bring hand sanitizer (AGR to provide a kit) sanitize hands frequently. Don’t share equipment.
LJ, TJ, HJ should enforce social distancing for all athletes and officials
Security:
Will work to enforce rules of social distancing and entrance of masks and remind spectators and athletes to read signages before entering.
Staff/Volunteers:
Must follow all COVID guidelines during the duration of the meet.
AGR will work to maintain a healthy work environment
- AGR will encourage disinfection practices to reduce exposure towards shielding workers.
- Modify workstation layouts to ensure all employees maintain social distancing of at least six feet.
- Enforce social distancing protocols and use other methods to physically separate employees.
- Close or limit access to common areas where employees are likely to congregate and interact.
- Work with facility maintenance staff to enhance ventilation by increasing air exchanges in rooms. Pressbox, Cashier booth, Concession booth.
- Promote hand washing often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use of hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- Increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces and shared objects to minimize the potential for cross-contamination; for example, clean before and after shifts and immediately before and after the use of shared objects.
- AGR will work to put in place supervision practices to reinforce stress-reduction messages.
- Communicate with your employees about job stress related to COVID-19 and ways to cope with that stress.
